Esmaeil Khatib is an Iranian intelligence chief who served as Minister of Intelligence under Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He was a key figure in Iran's nuclear program and was known for his hardline stance against the West. Khatib was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Tehran in 2026. He was 55 years old at the time of his death.
