Evelyn Mase

Evelyn Nombuyiselo Mase was a South African nurse, midwife, and matron. She was the first wife of Nelson Mandela and the mother of his six children. After her marriage to Mandela, she became the matriarch of the Mandela family. Evelyn Mase was known for her strong character and her ability to keep the family together during difficult times. She was also a devoted mother and wife, and her relationship with Mandela was marked by love and respect. Evelyn Mase passed away in 2004 at the age of 80.
