Founder of Boys Town
Father Edward Flanagan was an Irish-born priest who dedicated his life to helping homeless and troubled kids in Omaha, Nebraska. He founded Boys Town, a home for boys that provided a safe and supportive environment for children in need. Flanagan was known for his kindness and compassion, and he gained worldwide fame through the 1938 movie Boys Town. He visited several countries, including Japan, Korea, Austria, and Germany, and was respected internationally for his work. Flanagan passed away in 1948, but his legacy continues to inspire child welfare efforts today.
