Italian Patriot and Founding Father
Filippo Mazzei was an Italian patriot and one of the key figures in the American Revolution. Born in 1746 in Florence, Italy, Mazzei immigrated to America in the 1760s and became a successful merchant and politician. He played a crucial role in the American Revolution, serving as a delegate to the Continental Congress and helping to secure French support for the American cause. Mazzei was also a close friend and advisor to Thomas Jefferson, and his influence can be seen in the Declaration of Independence. He died in 1816 at the age of 70.
