Flavius Stilicho was a Roman general and statesman who served as the Magister Militum, or Master of the Soldiers, under Emperor Honorius. He was a skilled military leader and played a key role in the defense of Rome against the Visigoths. Stilicho was also a close advisor to the Emperor and served as the commander of the Roman army in Italy.
