Florence Nightingale was a British social reformer and statistician who is considered the founder of modern nursing. She is best known for her work during the Crimean War, where she improved sanitation and hygiene practices in British military hospitals. Nightingale was a pioneer in the use of statistics and data analysis in healthcare and was a strong advocate for the importance of proper ventilation and sanitation in hospitals. She was born in 1820 and died in 1910. She was a member of the Royal Statistical Society and was awarded the Royal Red Cross for her services to nursing.
