Ford Frick was an American baseball executive who served as the commissioner of Major League Baseball from 1946 to 1951. Born on August 3, 1894, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Frick began his career in baseball as a scout and eventually became the general manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
