Francesc Macià i Lloreta was a Catalan politician and general. He was born in 1880 in Prats de Molló, Catalonia. Macià served as the President of the Generalitat of Catalonia from 1931 to 1933. He was a key figure in the Catalan independence movement and led the Insurrecció Armada, a military uprising against the Spanish Republic. Macià was later exiled to France and died in 1949.
