Italian poet and scholar
Francesco Petrarca was an Italian poet, scholar, and humanist. He is widely regarded as the father of the Renaissance and is known for his sonnets and letters. Petrarca was born in 1304 and died in 1374. He was a key figure in the development of the Renaissance and had a significant impact on Western literature. Petrarca is buried in Arquà Petrarca, Italy.
