Francis of Assisi

Francis of Assisi was a Catholic friar and preacher who founded the Franciscan Order in 1209. He was born in 1181 in Assisi, Italy and was known for his poverty, simplicity, and devotion to God. Francis was a key figure in the Catholic Church and was canonized as a saint in 1228. He died in 1226 in Assisi, Italy.
