Francisco Oller was a Spanish painter and art historian. He was born in 1854 in Valencia, Spain and studied art at the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid. Oller was a prominent figure in the Spanish art world during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was known for his landscapes and still lifes, and was particularly interested in the art of the Spanish Renaissance. Oller was also a prolific writer and published several books on art history. He was a professor at the University of Barcelona and taught art history for many years. Oller was a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid and was awarded several honors for his contributions to the art world. He died in 1917 in Barcelona, Spain.
