François Ier was the King of France from 1515 to 1547. He was born in Chinon, France in 1494 and died in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France in 1547. François Ier was a member of the Valois dynasty and was known for his military campaigns and his efforts to strengthen the French monarchy. He was also a patron of the arts and architecture, and his reign saw the construction of several notable buildings in France, including the Louvre Palace.
