American science fiction and fantasy writer, best known for his work on the Alistair MacLean's 'The Hammer' series and the 'Thieves World' series. Saberhagen was a prolific writer, publishing over 100 books and numerous short stories. He was also a comic book writer and editor, and worked on several notable titles including 'The Avengers' and 'The Fantastic Four'. Saberhagen was a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and the Authors Guild.
