Frederick McKinley Jones was an American inventor and engineer. He is best known for inventing the first mobile air conditioner, which was used to cool refrigerated trucks. Jones held over 40 patents in his name and was a pioneer in the field of refrigeration. He was also a trailblazer for African American inventors and engineers. Jones was born in 1893 and passed away in 1961.
