Gaius Cassius Longinus was a Roman senator and one of the leaders of the conspiracy that assassinated Julius César in 44 BCE. He was a member of the Optimates and was known for his intelligence and strategic thinking. Cassius was a close friend and ally of Brutus, and the two men worked together to bring down César.
