Garrett Hardin was a prominent ecologist and author who wrote extensively on the topics of sustainability and environmental degradation. He is best known for his book "The Tragedy of the Commons", which explores the consequences of overexploitation of natural resources. Garrett was a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and was a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
