Astronaut and engineer
Garrett Reisman is a NASA astronaut and engineer with a background in mechanical engineering. He was born in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, and grew up with a passion for science and technology. Reisman earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his master's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California. He was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2000 and flew on two Space Shuttle missions. Reisman is also a veteran of the US Air Force, having served as a fighter pilot. He is currently a senior vice president at SpaceX, where he is responsible for the development of the company's crewed spacecraft. Reisman is known for his expertise in spacecraft systems and operations, and has been a key figure in the development of the SpaceX Crew Dragon.
