Former US Army General
General William Westmoreland was a four-star general in the United States Army. He served as the commander of the US military advisory team in Vietnam from 1964 to 1968. Westmoreland was a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He was a prominent figure in the US military during the Vietnam War and was known for his leadership style and his advocacy for the use of air power. Westmoreland retired from the military in 1972 and has since written several books on military history. He is currently a professor emeritus at the US Military Academy at West Point.
