George A. Martorella

George A. Martorella is a former American baseball executive and general manager. Born on March 17, 1953, in New York City, Martorella began his career in baseball as a scout for the New York Yankees. He later served as the team's general manager from 1998 to 2007. During his tenure, Martorella oversaw several significant trades and roster moves, including the acquisition of Derek Jeter and the trade of Bernie Williams. Martorella is a graduate of the University of Houston and has been involved in various charitable initiatives throughout his career.
