George Armstrong Custer

American military officer

George Armstrong Custer was an American military officer and cavalry commander. He is best known for his role in the Battle of Little Bighorn. Custer was born on December 5, 1839, in New Rumley, Ohio. He graduated from West Point and served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Custer later served in the Indian Wars and was killed in action at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876.
