George Botha was a South African politician and statesman. He served as the Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa from 1910 to 1919 and again from 1924 to 1929. Botha was a key figure in the formation of the Union of South Africa and played a leading role in the country's early years. He was a strong advocate for Afrikaner nationalism and was a vocal critic of British colonial rule. Botha was also a skilled diplomat and played a key role in negotiating the Treaty of Versailles. He died in 1942 at the age of 83.
