George Cathcart was a Lieutenant General in the British Army and played a key role in the military campaigns of the British Empire. He was born in Scotland and served in the British Army for over 30 years, rising through the ranks to become a Lieutenant General. Cathcart was known for his bravery and tactical skills, and was awarded several honors for his service. He is best known for his role in the Battle of Berea, where he led a British army against the Basotho kingdom. Cathcart died in 1849 at the age of 65.
