Former Canadian Agriculture Minister
Gerry Ritz is a Canadian politician who served as the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food from 2008 to 2015. He was a member of the Conservative Party and represented the riding of Battlefords—North Battleford—Meadow Lake in the House of Commons. Ritz has also been a farmer in Saskatchewan for 20 years. He is known for his advocacy on agricultural issues and his criticism of government regulations. Ritz has written several books on agriculture and has been a frequent commentator on agricultural policy.
