Gina Birch

Gina Birch is a British musician and artist, best known as the founding member and guitarist of the post-punk band The Raincoats. Born in 1955 in London, England, Birch grew up in a musical family and began playing music at a young age. She met her future bandmates, Ana da Silva and Viv Albertine, at art school, and the three formed The Raincoats in 1977. The band's music was characterized by its experimental and avant-garde sound, as well as its feminist and anti-sexist lyrics. Birch has also worked as a visual artist and has exhibited her work in galleries around the world. She has also been involved in various music projects and collaborations over the years.
