Giovanni Arrighi

Giovanni Arrighi was an Italian Marxist economist and historian who was born in 1937 and died in 2009. He was a prominent figure in the field of world systems theory and wrote extensively on topics such as imperialism, capitalism, and social justice. Arrighi was also a key figure in the development of the concept of 'accumulation by dispossession'. He was based in Italy.
