Giovanni Castellucci

Former head of Italy's motorway operator

Giovanni Castellucci was the ex-chief executive of Autostrade per l'Italia, the company responsible for managing Italy's motorways. He was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in the collapse of Genoa's Morandi bridge in August 2018, which resulted in 43 fatalities. Castellucci was accused of delaying the necessary maintenance of the bridge.
