Giovanni Paolo II

Giovanni Paolo II was the Pope of the Catholic Church from 1978 to 2005. He is also known as John Paul II and was the first non-European Pope in over 450 years. During his papacy, he played a significant role in promoting interfaith dialogue and was a strong advocate for human rights. He was also a prolific writer and published numerous books on theology and spirituality. John Paul II is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures of the 20th century.
