Gonzalo de Córdoba

Gonzalo Fernández de Córdoba was a Spanish general and statesman who played a key role in the conquest of Italy during the 15th century. He is best known for his victories in Italy, particularly his defense of Naples against the French. Córdoba was born in Córdoba, Spain in 1453 and died in 1515. He was a skilled military leader and politician who served as the Viceroy of Naples and Sicily. Córdoba is remembered as one of the greatest military leaders of the Spanish Empire.
