Historical king and saint
Good King Wenceslas was a 10th-century king of Bohemia who was known for his generosity and kindness. He was a patron of the poor and the church, and was revered as a saint by the people of Bohemia. Wenceslas was also a military leader who fought against the Germans and the Hungarians, and was eventually assassinated in 935. He is still remembered today as a symbol of generosity and kindness, and his feast day is celebrated on September 28th.
