Gordon Banks was an English footballer who played as a goalkeeper for the England national team and several clubs, including Stoke City and Burnley. He is best known for saving a penalty kick from Pelé in the 1966 World Cup Final, which helped England win the tournament. Banks was born in Middlesbrough, England, and was known for his exceptional reflexes and shot-stopping ability.
