Lew Wallace was an American author, politician, and lawyer. He is best known for writing the novel Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ. Wallace served as the 13th Governor of Indiana from 1876 to 1880. He was a prominent figure in the Republican Party and was known for his strong stance on education and infrastructure. Wallace was also a skilled writer and published several books on politics and history.
