Graça Machel is a Mozambican politician and women's rights activist. She was the First Lady of Mozambique from 1975 to 1990 and served as the country's Minister of Education from 1995 to 2000. Machel is also a prominent advocate for women's rights and has received numerous awards for her work. She was married to Nelson Mandela and Samora Machel, and has been a vocal critic of human rights abuses. Machel has also been recognized for her efforts to promote education and women's empowerment in Mozambique. She is currently a member of the African Union's High-Level Panel on Women's Empowerment and has written several books on politics and women's rights.
