Author and fairy tale writer
Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish author best known for his fairy tales, including The Little Mermaid and The Emperor's New Clothes. He was born in Denmark in 1805 and went on to write over 150 books during his lifetime. Andersen's work has been translated into over 125 languages and has sold millions of copies worldwide. He was awarded the Order of the Dannebrog in 1843.
