Hassan Al-Sadr

Hassan Nasreddin Al-Sadr was a prominent Iraqi Shia cleric and politician. He was a key figure in the Iraqi Shia insurgency against the US occupation. Al-Sadr was born in 1960 in the city of Najaf, Iraq. He studied Islamic law and became a prominent cleric in Najaf. He was a strong advocate for Shia rights and opposed the US occupation of Iraq. Al-Sadr was also a strong critic of the Iraqi government and the Shia-led government that followed the US invasion.
