American serial killer and architect
Henry Howard Holmes was born on May 16, 1856, in Goffstown, New Hampshire. He was an American serial killer, serial arsonist, and architect. Holmes is known for operating a hotel in Chicago during the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, where he allegedly murdered many guests. He was arrested in 1894 and confessed to 27 murders, although the true number of victims is still unknown. Holmes was hanged on May 7, 1896, at Moyamensing Prison in Philadelphia. He was 39 years old at the time of his execution.
