Henry Travers was a British-American actor who appeared in numerous films and stage productions. He is best known for his role as Clarence the Angel in It's a Wonderful Life. Travers was a veteran of the Royal Air Force and served in World War I. He was also a talented singer and performed in several musicals. Travers was married to actress Margaret O'Brien and had two children.
