Herman Kahn was a Dutch-American strategist and futurist. He is best known for his work on the concept of mutually assured destruction and the development of the concept of the 'tipping point'. Kahn was a prominent figure in the development of the RAND Corporation and served as its president from 1962 to 1968. He was also a prolific writer and published numerous books on strategy, politics, and economics.
