Hiroo Onoda

Hiroo Onoda is a Japanese former soldier who became famous for being the last surviving soldier of World War II. Born in 1922, Onoda enlisted in the Imperial Japanese Army at the age of 18 and served on the island of Lubang in the Philippines.
