Former Tunisian Prime Minister
Hisham Mashishi is a Tunisian politician who served as the Prime Minister of Tunisia from 2011 to 2014. He was a key figure in the country's transition to democracy after the Arab Spring. Mashishi was born in 1954 in Tunisia and studied economics at the University of Tunis. He began his career in politics in the 1980s and held various positions, including Minister of Finance and Minister of the Interior. Mashishi was arrested in 2021 on charges of corruption and was held in prison for several months before being released. He has since spoken publicly about his experiences and has written a book about his time in office.
