Hồ Quý Ly was a Vietnamese general and politician who played a key role in the overthrow of the Trần dynasty in 1407. He was a member of the imperial court and rose to prominence as a military leader. Ly was a skilled strategist and was known for his bravery in battle. He went on to become the founder of the Hồ dynasty, which ruled Vietnam for over a century. Ly was born in 1379 in Thăng Long, Vietnam, and died in 1400. He is remembered as one of the most important figures in Vietnamese history.
