Dean of Literature at Sonoma State University
Hollis Robbins is a literary scholar and historian. She earned her PhD in English from Harvard University, where she focused on 19th century African American literature. Before becoming dean at Sonoma State University, Robbins worked as a graduate student researcher for Henry Louis Gates Jr., helping to date a mid-19th century book. Her work has been recognized by the Modern Language Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
