Minister and hymn writer
Horatius Bonar was a Scottish minister and hymn writer who was born in 1808 and died in 1889. He was a prominent figure in the Scottish Reformed Presbyterian Church and wrote many hymns that are still sung today. Bonar was known for his strong faith and his ability to express complex theological ideas in simple, accessible language. He was also a prolific writer and published several books on theology and spirituality. Despite his significant contributions to the world of hymnology, Bonar is not as well-known today as he once was, and his work has largely been forgotten. However, his hymns continue to be sung by Christians around the world.
