Ibn Abd al-Wahhab

Ibn Abd al-Wahhab was a 18th-century Islamic scholar and theologian. He was born in Uyyala, Ottoman Empire and studied Islamic law and theology at the University of Medina. Ibn Abd al-Wahhab was a key figure in the Salafist movement and is credited with developing the ideology of Salafism. He died in 1792. Ibn Abd al-Wahhab's works had a significant impact on Islamic thought and continue to be studied by scholars today.
