Ivan Milat was an Australian serial killer who was convicted of murdering seven young travelers between 1989 and 1992. He was known as the 'Backpack Killer' and was arrested in 1994 after a lengthy investigation. Milat was sentenced to life imprisonment and died in prison in 2019.
