Ivan Passer was a Czech film director, screenwriter, and actor. He was born in 1923 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and died in 2002 in Los Angeles, California. Passer was a key figure in the Czech New Wave movement and directed several films, including Intimate Lighting, which is the subject of this episode. He was known for his innovative and influential filmmaking style.
