Jack Layton was a Canadian politician who served as the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP) from 2003 to 2012. He was a Member of Parliament for Toronto-Danforth and was known for his charismatic leadership style and progressive policies. Layton was a key figure in the NDP's "Orange Wave" in the 2000s, which saw the party gain significant support across Canada.
