Czech philosopher and theologian
Jan Amos Komensky (1592-1670) was a Czech philosopher and theologian who was known for his advocacy of tolerance and his development of the concept of 'pansophia'. He was a prominent figure in the 17th-century European Enlightenment and was a key influence on the development of modern philosophy. Komensky was also a prolific writer and published numerous works on philosophy, theology, and education. Despite his significant contributions to philosophy, Komensky's personal life was marked by controversy and scandal. He was known for his flamboyant and charismatic personality, and his death in 1670 was a significant loss to the philosophical community.
