Jan Paweł II was the Pope of the Catholic Church from 1978 to 2005. He was the first non-Italian Pope in over 450 years and was known for his progressive views on social justice and human rights. During his papacy, he visited over 129 countries and met with numerous world leaders. He was also a strong advocate for interfaith dialogue and cooperation. Paweł II was a prolific writer and published numerous books on theology and biblical studies. He was also a skilled diplomat and played a key role in ending the Cold War. Paweł II died in 2005, but his legacy continues to be felt in the Catholic Church and around the world.
