Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck was a Dutch composer and organist of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. He was born in 1562 in Leiden, Netherlands. Sweelinck was a prominent figure in the development of the organ music of the time. He composed music for various ensembles and was known for his innovative use of harmony and counterpoint. Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck passed away in 1621 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
