Acclaimed Czech writer and translator
Jana Beranova is a Czech writer, translator, and poet. She was born in 1932 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Beranova fled her home country at the age of 16 and settled in France, where she studied economics and later became a prominent figure in the French literary scene. She is best known for her translations of Milan Kundera's works and her own poetry. Beranova has received numerous awards for her writing and has been recognized for her contributions to Czech literature. She is currently active in the Czech literary community and continues to write and translate.
